Abstract
Non-Pt-based catalysts with high efficiency and stability have good research prospects for effective hydrogen production. Metal organic framework (MOF)-derived carbon materials are considered to be ideal catalyst supports due to their specific structure and tunable chemical composition. Here, we report a series of Pd-doped Co-MOF-derived carbon materials catalyst (Pdx/Co@NC) by direct pyrolysis method. The optimized electrocatalyst exhibits high HER performance in 0.5 M H2SO4, in the field of low overpotential (η10 = 54 mV) and small Tafel slopes (42 mV dec−1). It is comparable to the commercial Pt/C catalyst and even better than the Pd-based catalyst reported in many literatures. This study can make Pd-based electrocatalysts in electrochemical energy storage, compared with other catalysts in price and performance, which provides some ideas.
