Abstract

A novel C-loaded PdCl2–CuCl2 electrode material was prepared by the facile method without the use of any additive or organic active agent. It was used to fabricate a solid-state planar electrochemical carbon monoxide sensor. The effect of the working electrode used in amperometric gas sensors on the performance of sensitivity, detection limit was evaluated. The results showed that the sensor has characteristics of a practical-use level: response time, 10s; range, 0–100ppm; sensitivity, 0.35μA/ppm.
