Abstract

Abstract Tris(trialkylsilyl)silane [(i-Pr)3Si]3SiH (1) was synthesized, and the molecule was found to have a nearly planar structure of the polysilane skeleton by X-ray crystallography. Hydrogen abstraction from 1 by tert-butoxyl radical gave the highly stable silyl radical [(i-Pr)3Si]3Si· (2), which also has a planar structure.
