Abstract

Abstract Highly dispersed vanadium oxide supported on mesoporous SBA-16 (VO x /SBA-16) was prepared by the impregnation method and characterized by XRD, TEM, N 2 adsorption, and Raman spectroscopy. The VO x /SBA-16 catalysts retained the cubic cage-like pore structure of SBA-16, and the vanadia species was highly dispersed and mainly in the pores of the SBA-16 support. 7.3%VO x /SBA-16 showed excellent activity for the hydroxylation of benzene, which was attributed to the formation of highly dispersed VO 4 species and nanostructured V 2 O 5 microcrystallite.
