Abstract

Aggregation-Induced Emission In article 2202219 by Meijia Gu, Yin Shen, and co-workers, a mitochondria-targeting PDT strategy for retinoblastoma is developed based on AIEgens achieving the selective and efficient killing of ocular tumor cells. With the in-situ ROS burst in mitochondria of retinoblastoma cells with white light irradiation, the AIEgen TPE-IQ-2O exhibits excellent antitumor activity with good biocompatibility. Hence, the proposed strategy of mitochondria-targeting PDT provides a promising platform for curing retinoblastoma and presents great potential for clinical therapy.
