Abstract

The blank and three CN codoped titanias were sono-fabricated without or by organic additives: urea, ethylene diamine, and guanidine hydro chloride, denoted as b-TiO2, U-TiO2, E-TiO2 and G-TiO2, respectively. The as-prepared photocatalysts were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), photoluminescence (PL), thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA), X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS),UV–vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) and Raman spectroscopy. The b-TiO2 has a bicrystalline framework (anatase/brookite) and codoped titanias showed an anatase crystalline phase. The interesting photocatalytic activity of CN codoped Titania was shown through photosensitizer free deprotection of aldoximes and ketoximes into the corresponding carbonyl compounds under green and blue LED as visible-light source using CN codoped TiO2. The excellent five times reusability of the photocatalyst was observed.
