Abstract
Most phase change materials suffer from high supercooling degrees due to poor nucleating rates, and this reduces the effective heat capacities in energy storage systems. The application of carboxylated graphene oxide nanofiller to reduce such high supercooling degrees has been demonstrated in phase change materials for cold thermal energy storage. The efficacy of these modified graphene oxide has been clearly demonstrated by lowered supercooling degree while maintaining equally high latent heat as the phase change materials without nanofillers. The presence of additional carboxylic groups offer high dispersibility without the use of surfactant.
