Abstract

New generation electro-optic appliances, mainly white-LEDs (light emitting diodes) foster excellent energy-efficacy, low cost, high lumen yield and environment friendly features. Y3Al5O12 (YAG):Er3+ nanophosphors (NPs) have been developed via combustion technique. Owing to near-UV excitation (379 nm), vivid-green emission was acquired in the fabricated phosphor materials. The best possible luminous intensity has been ascertained at × = 0.02 Er3+content, with laudable quantum-efficiency (85.37%), suitable CCT (7246 K) and a high color-purity (82.30%). All the derived results predicate their effective performance in optical-sensors, lasers and cool-WLEDs. Moreover, the current findings can be protracted to develop other green-glimmering nanophosphors.
