Abstract

This paper presents an improved architecture for Wireless Body Area Network (WBAN) communication systems in health-care monitoring environment. Due to the anatomy of the human body, the WBAN communication can encounter heavy noises and the signal will be significantly jammed. For small scale WBAN networks, it's much more difficult to correct the faulty data and erroneous information captured at the receiver. In order to overcome the noisy environment of the WBAN communications, we construct a static XOR based architecture with three relays selection to improve the redundancy in the small scale network and force the encoding and decoding operation to be more and more efficient. The proposed architecture is based on linear block codes, over the Rician fading channel environment. The obtained results show that the improved architecture performs better over Rician channel and has very good results in term of Binary Error Rate (BER).
