Abstract

AbstractHere Fe‐doped on manganese oxide octahedral molecular sieve (Fe‐OMS‐2) has been successfully synthesized and used as an efficient catalyst for acid orange 7 degradation in the presence of peroxymonosulfate in aqueous solutions. Then Fe‐OMS‐2 has been characterized by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry, N2 adsorption‐desorption isotherms, transmission electron microscopy, X‐ray diffraction and X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Fe‐OMS‐2 catalyst exhibits higher efficiency for the degradation of acid orange 7 in comparison with OMS‐2. Then various amounts of Fe‐OMS‐2, AO7 concentration and PMS concentration have also been tested for the degradation of acid orange 7. In addition, the catalyst Fe‐OMS‐2 has been successfully reused 5 times without significant decrease in catalytic activity by simple filtration.
