Abstract

This cover page depicts an air-mode-supporting metasurface based on crystalline silicon. As introduced by Haowen Liang, Juntao Li and co-workers in article number 2002209 and shown in the cover picture, the metasurface reduces absorption losses by confining the electric field in the periphery of the silicon nanobricks, thereby achieving high transmission efficiency at 532 nm wavelength for the generation of orbital angular momentum.
