Abstract

The β +/EC decay of mass-separated 197m,gBi has been studied with the LISOL on-line separator. A decay scheme has been constructed on the basis of X, γ and electron singles spectra and γet, γXt and γγt coincidence data. Three types of levels are observed: the P 3 2 , f 5 2 , i 13 2 and f 7 2 neutron quasiparticle states, the coupling of the p 3 2 , p 5 2 and i 13 2 quasiparticles to the 2 1 + level of the even Pb core and the coupling of the i 13 2 quastiparticle to the 0 2 + and 2 2 + levels of the shell-model intruder states in the even-Pb core.
