Abstract

The European Ground Systems – Common Core (EGS-CC) is a European initiative to develop a common infrastructure to support space systems monitoring and control in preand post-launch phases for all mission types. In addition to the modernisation of legacy systems, this is expected to bring significant benefits in the whole process supported by monitoring and control systems, such as the seamless transition from spacecraft Assembly, Integration and Testing (AIT) to mission operations, cost and risk reductions, promotion of cross-fertilisation across organizations. The initiative is being performed as a collaboration between ESA, European National Agencies and European Industry. In this paper we describe the main highlights of the initiative along with the current status and future planning of the EGS-CC programme.
