Abstract

This paper presents a novel quasi-resonant ZVS-PWM DC-DC converter using Phase-Shifted Modulation (PSM) in secondary AC side of highfrequency transformer. A newiy-proposed DC-DC converter with high-frequency link can minimize the freewheeling current through the transformer primary and secondary side circuits. Thus, the conduction losses of this soft-switching DC-DC converter can be substantially reduced as compared with those of traditional hard-switching PWM DC-DC converters. Furthermore, the proposed DC-DC converter can achieve zero voltage soft-switching PWM operation with low commutating current as well as zero current soft-switching rectifier operation in steady-state which is independent with load current. The principle of this operation and performances in analysis are illustrated and discussed by means of computer-aided simulating results and experimental ones.
