Abstract
Array signal processing is a very rich area for applications of higher-order statistics. This paper provides a short overview of: cumulant-based blind beamforming, virtual cross-correlation computer, the virtual ESPRIT algorithm (VESPA), waveform recovery, and suppression of non-Gaussian noise, all of which represent novel applications of higher-order statistics, and in all cases provide solutions to problems that either could not be solved before or can now be solved better than before.
