Abstract
A method for calculating the sound field in higher modes in a short bend and in the following straight duct of rectangular cross-section is discussed. Experimental results show reflection by the bend junctions to be of a very low order and predictions are based on the sound pressure field alone. Calculated distributions of sound pressure level in the bend and in the following straight section show fair agreement with experimental data.
