Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of the cultural foundations of higher education in the Russian Federation and China. Special attention is paid to the implementation of “market reforms” and the modernization of higher education. The author noted that despite the similar form, the transformations of Russian and Chinese education, including in connection with joining the International Trade Organization, have different value content, since in the first case there is a breakdown of values and “Westernization”, and in the second case there is a reliance on tradition and the preservation of the national component. The author makes a conclusion about the key role of the educational aspect and ideology in the higher education of the People’s Republic of China.
