Abstract

Zn 1 - x V x O , which shows ferromagnetism above the room temperature (RT), has been studied by photoemission spectroscopy. We find that V 3d-drived states are created in the band gap of ZnO and the Fermi level was located close to the Zn 4s conduction band minimum. The suppression of spectral weight near the Fermi level indicates the importance of Coulomb interactions between V 3d electrons.
