Abstract

Boron nitride (BN) nanotubes were obtained in high yield via chemical vapor deposition by annealing Fe3BO6 under NH3 atmosphere at 1100 °C. The XRD and FTIR spectra indicate the products are high pure hexagonal phase BN. SEM, TEM, and HRTEM were used for observing the morphology of the products. The possible chemical reactions and growth mechanism are also proposed.
