Abstract

We present a facile wet-chemical method for preparing spherical Cd0.5Zn0.5S/graphene composites, which exhibit a high photocatalytic decolorization of methyl green (MG) at optimized condition (graphene of 5wt.%) and the apparent 0.054mA/cm−2 photocurrent density under simulated solar light illumination. The decolorization rate of 5wt.% Cd0.5Zn0.5S/graphene exceeded that of pure Cd0.5Zn0.5S by more than 4 times, and are also much better than that of the optimized CdS/graphene composite under the same conditions, demonstrating that the Cd0.5Zn0.5S/graphene composite is able to be one of the most highly active metal sulfide photocatalysts.
