Abstract

Coefficients of viscosity, thermal conductivity and self diffusion for neon, argon, krypton and xenon have been calculated for temperatures up to 7000 K on the basis of pair potential energy functions recently determined from analysis of low density equilibrium and transport properties, together with the result of molecular beam studies. These calculated coefficients differ from the tabulated values of Amdur and Mason (1958), especially for xenon, but they are in closer agreement with the recent experimental viscosity measurements. In the case of the thermal conductivity coefficient, the present predictions are used to obtain an estimate of the accuracy of recent high temperature experimental data.
