Abstract
NaCeF4(s) is the single ternary compound in NaF-CeF3 system and it was prepared in solid state route. The characterization of NaCeF4(s) has been checked with X-ray diffraction technique and the purity has been checked with Rietveld analysis. The micro homogeneity and surface morphology of the prepared compound has been tested with EDS and SEM technique, respectively. The heat capacity, C0p[NaCeF4(s)] has been measured experimentally with DSC and the Gibbs energy of formation, ΔfG0m of NaCeF4(s) has been determined using Solid Electrolyte Galvanic Cell with CaF2(s) as solid electrolyte. The binary phase diagram of NaF(s)-CeF3(s) system has been calculated based on experimental thermodynamic data,. To study the stability domain and coexisting phases of NaCeF4(s) in reactor operating condition, the chemical potential diagram of Na-Ce-F-O system and ternary phase diagram of Na-Ce-F2 system has been calculated.
