Abstract
A single-phase (Ni,Pt)Al coating was removed by soft chemical stripping method successfully after preceding oxidation at 1100 °C for 300 h, and a fresh one was refurbished subsequently. Oxidation behaviour of the refurbished (Ni,Pt)Al coating was studied in comparison with the virgin one at 1100 °C. The results show that the refurbished coating exhibited superior isothermal and cyclic oxidation resistance than the virgin one in terms of oxidation rate and surface rumpling. The effects of surface roughness and residual elements in the refurbished coating on oxidation rate, surface rumpling and interdiffusion behaviour were discussed.
