Abstract

The asymmetric giant magnetoimpedance (GMI) and transversal Kerr effect (TKE) has been measured as a function of measuring temperature in the annealed Co-based amorphous ribbon. The hysteretic peculiarities on the temperature dependence of GMI and TKE on first thermal cycle are revealed in the temperature range 350–410 K. However, there is no significant hysteresis for second heating and cooling process. These results indicate that the first heating up to temperature nearly 350 K leads to irreversible modification of micro-structure of near surface layer.
