Abstract

Superconducting glass ceramics composed of quasi-oriented platelets 100 to 600μ in size have been obtained by controlled heat treatment of glasses with compositions in the Bi2(CaSr)n+1CunOy (n=1,2,3) family. Samples have Tc=85 K, reaching zero resistance around 70 K. This method of preparation allows for the use of glass processing techniques to form superconducting devices.
