Abstract

This paper proposes a new high step-up hybrid converter to supply both ac and dc loads. This converter is fulfilled the load requirements based on the replacement of a switch located in a high step-up single-switch converter with a single-phase H-bridge inverter. The converter switches are activated by employing the proper switching pattern. The high step-up hybrid converter can generate the high dc output voltage of 400V for the dc load when the dc input source is quite low. In addition, the converter can simultaneously supply the ac load. The dc and ac voltage gains depend on the duty cycle and the modulation index. The simulation results show the performance of the high step-up hybrid converter to supply dc and ac loads when the converter operates in different values of duty cycle and modulation index.
