Abstract

Demagnetisation is an important factor in the accuracy of magnetic measurements, so that a number of dc and ac demagnetisation techniques have been evaluated. An optimum computer-based automated low-frequency ac demagnetisation system was constructed based on a logarithmic curve technique to carry out the effective demagnetisation of a steel rod. It also ensures a fixed uniform decrease in current amplitude of 90% per half cycle. A fully controlled system has been designed and utilised to measure the magnetisation and hysteresis loops of steel rods.
