Abstract
Face recognition using log-polar transformation is possible to recognize faces without restricting the distance and rotation angle from face to camera. We proposed a face recognition method with fast log-polar transformation using only facial elements such as eyes and mouth [8]. This paper proposes a fast and highly accurate face recognition method which adds weighted image to the above method. Fast matching can be achieved by processing only a certain range from the center point of the face by using log-polar transformation. Furthermore, high-precision matching can be realized by weighting the characteristic parts of the face at the time of matching. In order to confirm the effectiveness of the proposed method, a face recognition experiment was conducted by 12 subjects. As a result, it was confirmed that faces can be recognized faster and with higher accuracy than conventional methods.
