Abstract

Characteristics of low level scintillation spectrometer operating in various coincidence modes are reviewed. A comparison of results shows that the most sensitive mode is the beta-gamma-gamma spectrometer. The high sensitivity obtained enables to investigate rare decay processes in nuclear physics, to perform nondestructive measurements of cosmogenic nuclides in extraterrestrial samples, e.g. lunar and meteorite samples, as well as to perform low level radioactivity measurements in the environment.
