Abstract

A high-sensitive gas sensor structure based on Mie resonance in a slotted MDM metasurface is proposed. The sensing performance of slotted and original gold-ring MDM structures is comprehensively compared under the same basic structural parameters. The slotted part can be coated with a gas-sensitive film to construct a new MDM structure in the x-direction, improving the sensitivity effectively with optimized parameters. The detection of mixed gases will not be disturbed. The sensitivity of methane and hydrogen are − 4.516 nm / % and − 1.051 nm / %. The relationship between the polarization angle of the incident light and extinction spectrum is also established to provide feasibility for detecting the polarization angle.
