Abstract

The high-resolution spectra of the vibration-rotational bands ν 3 and ν 6 of gaseous D 3 70GeH have been measured in the region 395-890 cm −1 with a resolution of 0.0035 cm −1. A variational approach has been applied to the analysis of both bands, which are strongly perturbed, especially by x, y Coriolis interaction and by "2, −1" l-type coupling. A standard deviation of 2.64 × 10 −4 cm −1 has been obtained in the fit of 2184 lines with 34 rotational and vibration-rotational parameters of the ν 3 = 1 and ν 6 = 1 vibrational states. A strong intensity perturbation of lines corresponding to the Δ K = +1 transitions in the ν 6 band is discussed in terms of the mixing of wavefunctions corresponding to the + l and − l states of the ν 6 = 1 level.
