Abstract
By far infrared (30– 1000 cm −1 ) spectroscopy, we measured new excitations that appear in α′-NaV 2O 5 below the temperature T c =35 K of the charge ordering magnetoelastic transition. They are interpreted as folded modes of the dimerized lattice.
