Abstract

Present work describes the pulsed field facility that has been set-up at the Laboratory of Magnetism of the University of La Habana. A maximum energy of 30 kJ can be stored in a 2400 μF capacitor bank. A reinforced copper wire wound pulsed magnet has been constructed; it allows the repeatable generation of pulsed magnetic fields up to 200 kOe with the coil kept at room temperature. An electronic system is available in order to perform magnetic measurements; it allows the detection, signal processing and digital recording of the dM/dt and dH/dt signals, respectively. The magnetometer is specially suitable for the study of hard magnetic materials. Representative measurements performed on permanent magnet materials are reported (magnetization, coercivity and anisotropy).
