Abstract

A simple flow apparatus has been developed for studying high-pressure (vapour + liquid) equilibria at temperatures from 300 K to 420 K and pressures up to 30 MPa. Experimental results for [(1−x)CO2 + x{C6H5CH3 or o-C6H4(CH3)2 or m-C6H4(CH3)2 or p-C6H4(CH3)2}](1) = [(1−y)CO2 + y{C6H5CH3 or o-C6H4(CH3)2 or m-C6H4(CH3)2 or p-C6H4(CH3)2}](g) have been determined. A recently developed generalized Bender equation of state is successfully applied to correlating the results. As no temperature-dependent mixing rules are used, the correlation should be a valuable instrument for predictions.
