Abstract

Abstract The effects of high pressure on the luminescence properties of bichromorphic compounds, i.e., (9-anthryl)-(CH2) n -(9-anthryl) systems and p-(CH3)2NC6H4-CH2-(9-anthryl), were investigated. They were studied in a polymeric environment in order to eliminate intermolecular interactions. Two types of intramolecular interactions, i.e., “through-bond interaction” and “through-space interaction,” are distiguished by the different pressure effects, depending on the ground-state molecular conformations.
