Abstract

The effect of pressure on the resistivity and compressibility on Al 2(WO 4) 3 has been investigated. AC resistivity measurements have shown that the resistance values are strongly frequency dependent and show an anomalous change at about 5 kbar. Compressibility measurements also show an inflection at about 5 kbar in the pressure derivative of the volume compression data, which is found to be reversible. Both the measurements indicate the occurrence of a reversible phase transformation in Al 2(WO 4) 3 at about 5 kbar.
