Abstract

Dispersion curve of a biexciton (XX) at k ~ 0 in CuCl is measured using a high-precision polarization rotation spectroscopy. An energy minimum around k = 1 × 10 5 cm −1 is observed in the XX dispersion in some crystals. The fact is consistent with radiative renormalization effects of XX predicted by the bipolariton model. Theoretical examinations of the exciton-exciton potential and more experimental examinations are expected for quantitative comparison of the value of the minimum.
