Abstract

The development of a 85Kr off-gas monitor for nuclear fuel reprocessing plants is presented. Discussed are the parameters used in the design of the monitor, including the sensitivity, the dynamic measurement range, and the radionuclide composition of the off-gas stream. Detailed are the associated isokinetic sampling system, the components of the monitor, and the data acquisition microprocessor. Lastly, 85Kr rel eases measured during in-plant demonstration of the monitor are compared with known 85Kr releases.
