Abstract

Data are presented showing that CdS thin-film microwave transducers can handle RF input powers of at least 46 watts peak, thus leading to practical microwave acoustic devices with output power levels exceeding several milliwatts and acoustic intensities in excess of 1 watt/mm <sup xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">2</sup> .
