Abstract

This letter presents an experimental arrangement designed for high-power laser array linewidth reduction. The emission spectrum of the array is narrowed by the external injection locking technique employing a CW Ti:Sa laser. In this way, the power spectral density at the desired wavelength is increased more than nine times. The designed laser system has been used for optical pumping of rubidium atoms in the apparatus for production of hyperpolarized xenon, which performs a role of contrast medium in magnetic resonance tomography.
