Abstract

Ring-opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP) and alkyne metathesis polymerization were combined with various coating, grafting, precipitation and quasi bulk-polymerization techniques. By this approach, the synthesis of functionalized polymer beads was accomplished. These were subsequently used for applications in separation science such as chiral high-performance liquid-chromatography (chiral HPLC), high-performance ionchromatography (HPIC) as well as the selective extraction of (radioactive) transition metal ions such as palladium, mercury or lanthanides.
