Abstract

A method was developed for the determination of uric acid in the feces of egg-laying hens by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), using a NovaPak C18 column and phosphate buffer as the mobile phase. Uric acid obtained by semi-preparative HPLC purification was used as the standard. Data on selectivity, sensitivity and precision demonstrate the reliability of this method.
