Abstract
Here we present a novel approach to develop a high performance Li-ion battery, capable of deep discharge and/or long-term storage near 0V. We demonstrate that our high performance and near 0V storage capable battery technology can withstand ~0V deep discharge and/or long-term storage without battery deterioration when operating under the normal conditions. Thus this battery technology is an ideal power source for high performance and safety-critical applications, e.g., transportation, consumer electronics, medical, military, and space.
