Abstract
In this paper, design of compact Choked Feed Horn (CFH) with low side lobe, low cross polarization is presented in X-Band. The feed horn comprises of compact waveguide transition and circular waveguide and choked horn. Efficient mode conversion has implemented from TE 10 to TE 11 , and from TE 11 to HE 11 modes. The antenna has optimized in commercially available CST microwave studio. The fabricated antenna has reported gain of 13.8±0.5dB, HPBW in both El&Az planes are ≥ 320, worst cross polarization reported is 40 dB in band of 8–13GHz. The realized antenna is used as feed for Compact Antenna Test Range (CATR) reflector for antenna measurements.
