Abstract

In any digital spectroscopy system the signal has to be properly conditioned before sampling by means of analog circuitry. The paper presents an analog fully-differential front-end, with digitally adjustable gain and offset, wide dynamic amplitude of input signals, low noise and linearity error less than 100 ppm. The analog section has been designed bearing in mind also multichannel applications and, consequently, taking into particular account power dissipation, physical size of hosting PCB, and allowing the system to operate in presence of electromagnetic noise, while at the same time minimizing its own radiated emissions. The proposed analog stage is designed bearing in mind a general-purpose architecture, both for X and γ -ray applications.
