Abstract
The quantum dot (QD) mode-locked laser is an ideal multi-wavelength source for data communication and optical interconnects. In our work, we report an O-band QD 4th order colliding pulse mode-locked laser both on GaAs and Si substrate, which can generate 100 GHz spacing stable optical frequency combs in O-band. On GaAs substrate, a flat-top optical comb of 11.5 nm in 3 dB optical linewidth is achieved. By modulating each channel with 40 Gbaud/s PAM-4 format, the MLL with 20 frequency combs can be used to achieve 1.6 Tbit/s data transmission.
