Abstract
O alto astigmatismo representa um desafio para o cirurgiao refrativo devido a limitacao da tecnologia atualmente disponivel. A correcao com excimer laser deve ser considerada uma opcao no arsenal terapeutico disponivel. Apresentamos um paciente com astigmatismo superior a 8 dioptrias que realizaou um tratamento com a tecnica LASIK (Laser Assisted in Situ Keratomileusis) em dois tempos cirurgicos, utilizando uma nova geracao de excimer laser com perfil asferico otimizado.
