Abstract

An 81-channel hyperspherical close-coupling calculation has led to a photodetachment spectrum of ${\mathrm{H}}^{\mathrm{\ensuremath{-}}}$ in excellent agreement with experiments at energies up to threshold for the production of H(n=7), including all the observed resonance structures. Positions of Wannier ridge resonances not only for ${\mathrm{H}}^{\mathrm{\ensuremath{-}}}$ but also for He and ${\mathrm{Li}}^{+}$ are fitted to a double-Rydberg formula, and the screening parameter in it is found to be remarkably independent of the nuclear charge.
