Abstract
The supply chain management is one of the important processes in every organization. The agile and economical supply chains become the competitive advantage for successful organizations. For developing an effective supply chain system, it is necessary for organizations to model and simulate their supply chain before they start to run it. There are many methods for simulating the supply chain and logistics systems, in this research the High-Level Petri Nets (HLPN) presented as an effective method for simulating a supply chain system; in this research the researchers presented a four-echelon supply chain system for two types of products. The results show the high performance and easiness of using of High-level petri net (HLPN) method. In this research the researchers were able to follow every scenarios that can happened to the materials from suppliers to consumers. The components of high-level petri nets (HLPN) can help the researchers for modeling and simulating the supply chain and logistic complex systems in the way of developing the agile and low-cost supply chains.
