Abstract
Luminescent Eu(III) complexes with bis-phosphine oxide ligands were synthesized. Geometric structures of novel Eu(III) complexes were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. One of the Eu(III) complexes showed remarkably sharp red emission and large stimulated emission cross-section (full width at half maximum (FWHM) = 2.1 nm, stimulated emission cross-section = 1.80 × 10 −20 cm 2). The sharpness of the emission bands of the Eu(III) complexes was discussed in terms of the symmetry of the geometrical structure.
